Statement of Purpose
The Felicia M. DeLorenzo Scholarship Foundation provides deserving high school graduates who reside in the Town of Arlington with financial assistance for their post-secondary education. The scholarships are awarded to applicants who demonstrate Felicia’s qualities, including a strong work ethic and commitment to community. Scholarship winners for the upcoming school year are announced in June and payments are made directly, generally in two installments, to the educational institutions.

“College can put you at the summit of your teenage years and cast you into a cold and dark pit in a matter of hours. […] I can tell you that amongst the most important things for you to do before the fall – even more important than buying textbooks or shopping for dorm room décor – is to develop effective coping mechanisms that will provide a ladder for you to climb out from such pits. That could mean listening to music, reading romcoms, or going to the gym for some […] The ideal mechanism will weave elements of your college’s resources and community but will also be able to function independently.”
